CrownsA dental crown or cap is a tooth-shaped cover that is placed over a weakened or damaged tooth to restore its natural appearance and prevent further deterioration. Crowns are used in cases of severely chipped or broken teeth, to cover the exposed area of a tooth following a root canal procedure, to replace a large old filling or for cosmetic reasons. Crowns can be made of all metal, all porcelain, or a combination of both. Because all crowns are custom made for each patient, it may take more than one appointment to complete.
-
BridgesA dental bridge consists of an artificial tooth connected to a set of crowns used to fill a gap created by one or more missing teeth. Your dentist will create a custom bridge for your mouth that will look and function like your natural teeth. We fabricate a model of your mouth (temporary bridge) until the final bridge comes back from our laboratory and is finally cemented. You don’t have to worry about removing or repositioning the bridge once it is cemented in your mouth. Bridges and crowns can solve the problems created by missing and damaged teeth and last for years to come.

Restoration (fillings)A composite filling is the restoration procedure of choice for treating a tooth with decay. A composite is a tooth-colored filling that is made of ceramic and plastic compounds. These fillings mimic the appearance of natural teeth and are preferred among many patients and dental professionals.

Endodontic treatment or Root CanalA root canal is a procedure used to treat severely decayed or infected teeth. The inside of a tooth contains a soft material called up pulp, nerve that allows the tooth to feel sensations. If the exterior of a tooth becomes damaged to the point where the pulp is exposed, infection may occur .Symptoms of a root canal infection include swelling of the gums and face, increased sensitivity to temperature, and severe toothache. If left untreated, the infection can result in abscess and ultimately, tooth loss. Stages of Root canal Therapy:: 1. The tooth is numbed for your comfort. An opening is made through the crown and the infected nerve is removed. 2. Each canal is then cleaned and shaped so it can be filled. Medicine may be placed in the tooth. 3. The canals are filled with rubber-like material to seal them. 4. The tooth is restored with a dental restoration (usually a crown) to strengthen it.

Periodontal DiseaseThe early stages of gum disease are classified as Gingivitis that just is affecting the external soft tissues and if caught early on, the effects of the disease can be reversed. Once the infection pass to the bone, the damage is permanent and can only be managed, not cured, with professional treatment. Daily brushing and flossing can help prevent the onset of periodontal disease, but regular exams and cleanings are necessary to ensure that all plaque and tartar are removed from the teeth and that the signs of gum disease are caught before the damage is irreversible. Many patients do not experience any symptoms of periodontal disease until is too late, which is why it is very important to schedule an evaluation today to learn more.

Oral SurgeryA tooth extraction, or exodontia, is the removal of a tooth. Reasons for a tooth extraction include decayed or broken teeth. They may also be removed to make room for other teeth or an orthodontic treatment. There are two main types of tooth extractions: simple extractions and surgical extractions. Simple extractions are performed on visible teeth in the mouth under local anesthesia. The tooth is loosened from its socket and then removed with dental forceps. Surgical extraction is a more complicated procedure done on teeth that have broken under the gum line or have not fully erupted.

ImplantsImplants are replacement tooth roots. Implants are actually a small post made of metal that are placed into the bone socket where teeth are missing. The implant is covered with a replacement tooth called a crown or removable appliances like partial and complete dentures.

Complete and partial DenturesA denture is a removable dental appliance replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They are made to closely resemble your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile. There are two types of dentures-complete and partials-.Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. A partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting. A complete denture may be either " conventional" or "immediate".A conventional type is made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed, usually taking 4 to 6 weeks. During this time the patient will go without teeth. Immediate dentures are made in advance and immediately placed after the teeth are removed, thus preventing the patient from having to be without teeth during the healing process. Once the tissues shrink and heal, adjustments will have to made or even a new one. Dentures are very durable appliances and will last many years, but may have to be remade, repaired, or readjusted due to normal wear.
